ABNA24 - A number of Egyptian elites and parties declared their solidarity with the Iranian people and government and the region’s Islamic resistance against the US-Israeli aggression.
According to Al-Alam, dozens of Egyptian intellectuals and politicians signed a statement in which they declared their support for the people and government of Iran and the Islamic resistance in Lebanon and warned against US President Donald Trump’s plan to destroy the region in favor of the Zionist regime.
According to the report, a wide range of political, cultural and professional figures in Egypt declared their full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of the war imposed on it by the US and the Zionist regime. A war that aims to destroy the capabilities of the region and reduce Iran’s regional power in favor of the colonial project.
The signatories, including the leaders of the Al-Karama Party, and Egyptian journalists and academics, also declared their full solidarity with the Lebanese people and their courageous resistance, emphasizing the full legitimacy of the Lebanese people’s response to the occupiers by any means possible.
The statement said that any attempt to circumvent this legitimacy would be considered a “coup against national and international principles.”
The signatories of the statement stated that the people of southern Lebanon are exercising their inherent right to resist the Israeli occupation regime, given the capitulation of some successive governments to the will of the West.
Expressing pride in the Iranian government’s struggle to break the siege and sanctions, the signatories emphasized that the interests of the Egyptian leadership require opposing the agenda of Trump and his Zionist allies and refusing to yield to economic pressure in exchange for concessions in political positions.
The statement also condemned the insistence of some Persian Gulf states on maintaining American bases that are used as facilities for aggression against the people of the region, and called for the formulation of a new security future free of foreign military presence in the region.
The statement concluded by emphasizing support for the resistance movements in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen, and their synergy for a unified fight against the enemies of the Islamic Ummah and the Egyptian people.
